McDonald Lake, West Entrance to Glacier National Park, MT – This panorama is of the northeastern part of the lake the day after an early fall snow storm.

Creek Street, Ketchikan Alaska

Creek Street, Ketchikan, AK – Normally Ketchikan in October is a wet and windy place. I was lucky enough to be there on a bright, sunny day and created this panorama of 14 images of the infamous and historic former “red light” district of Ketchikan.

Delicate arch, Utah

Delicate Arch, Arches National Park, Moab, UT – Usually taking Milky Way pictures is a solitary experience. Not at the Delicate Arch on Labor Day weekend. There were at least 100 photographers there at 10:30 p.m. trying to create a better image than me.

Death Valley, California

Zabriskie Point, Death Valley National Park, CA – This is a detail of a panorama that I created of the sunrise from this famous lookout above the floor of Death Valley.

Point Ruston, Tacoma

Point Ruston, Tacoma, WA – Panorama of the sun rising over the (docked) Point Ruston ferry boat with Mount Rainier on the far side of Commencement Bay in the distance.

Gravelly Lake, Tacoma

Gravelly Lake, Lakewood, WA – Every Independence Day a successful local businessman hosts a fireworks display on Gravelly Lake. This year I was closer to the fireworks than ever before and witnessed an amazing show close up.

Charleston, SC

Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, Charleston, SC – A long (160 second) exposure of the sun coming up over this beautiful bridge outside of Charleston. I used a 15 stop filter to be able to create such a long exposure.

Point Reyes, California

Point Reyes Lighthouse, Point Reyes, CA – Another very long exposure of the lighthouse and Pacific Ocean. This was taken early on a Sunday morning and the lighthouse was closed.

Gig Harbor and Mount Rainier, Gig Harbor, WA – Taken from the Finholm steps at the end of Gig Harbor. It was a cold morning and the fog would appear and disappear every few minutes.

Mount Rainier, Reflection Lake

Reflection Lakes, Mount Rainier, WA – Taken in May, the Reflection Lakes were still mostly snow covered when I visited them and created this star trail image. This is a composite of 250 different 30 second exposures taken over three hours at night. I was sitting in about six inches of snow.

Japanese garde, Point Defiance, Tacoma

Japanese Pagoda, Point Defiance Park, Tacoma, WA – I try to visit the Dahlia Garden and the Pagoda in Point Defiance Park at least once a year. Both areas of the park are beautiful. This is a 120 second exposure which nicely captures the quickly moving clouds at sunrise.

Avalanche Lake

Avalanche Lake, Glacier National Park, MT – This is a panorama of 27 different images. It had snowed the day before and when I got to the lake it was perfectly still which increased the beauty of the reflections.

Palouse, Washington

Palouse Farm House, Palouse, WA – This is a 180 second exposure of one of the many farm houses and barns that can be found in the hilly and beautiful Palouse region of southeast Washington.

Private Arch, Arches National Park, Moab, UT – View of the cloud formations over the Private Arch. One of seven arches featured in the Devils Garden Loop Trail.

Marin County

Mount Diablo State Park, Contra Costa County, CA – I drove up this 3,000 foot high mountain in the eastern San Francisco Bay Area with the hopes of photographing a pretty sunset. As I was driving I saw a field of California Poppies and spent an hour or so shooting them. I finally got this 100 second exposure of the sun setting on these poppies.
